Both performances are free and open to the public.
The concerts will feature various types of dance. Students will perform eight dances, all choreographed by ensemble members or Emily Ross, Dance Ensemble director.
Ross earned a bachelor's degree in dance at the University of Oregon and has taught at Willamette University, McKay High School and West Salem High School. She has also served as a guest teacher at the University of Oregon where she instructed the UO Colorguard, and at numerous elementary, junior high and high schools. She is the rehearsal director of Dance Africa, a UO repertory company with which she has danced for seven years, and the movement director at Scott Reese Superior Leadership Camp.
Any qualified dancer on campus can register for the spring dance ensemble class and participate in the concert. In addition to performing, students help with professional responsibilities associated with the productions.
