The afternoon performance will feature Elise Yun, Linfield staff accompanist, on piano, James Boyd on clarinet and Hekun Wu on cello. The ensemble will perform a variety of works by composers including Claude Debussy, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Frédéric Chopin and Johannes Brahms.
Yun has performed in solo and collaborative recitals in the U.S. and abroad, including the Ravinia Festival Steans Institute, The Moscow Conservatory International Institute and at Carnegie Recital Hall. She has performed extensively in a duo with Wu and they have recorded works written expressly for the duo. Yun has given master classes and lecture-recitals in the U.S., South Korea, Japan and China. She has taught at The Juilliard School as well as New York University, Westminster Conservatory and most recently at Wellesley College. She is a graduate of Wellesley College and completed graduate studies at The Juilliard School and New York University.
Wu is music director of the Salem Chamber Orchestra and professor of cello at Willamette University. He has performed internationally as a cellist and has been featured on numerous radio and television broadcasts. He has led master classes and workshops at the New England Conservatory, the Longy School of Music, the Shanghai Conservatory and the Taipei National University of the Arts.
Boyd, executive director of the Salem Chamber Orchestra, is pursing a doctor of musical arts in performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He served as principal clarinetist in the Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca orchestra and has performed regularly with a variety of orchestras across the nation.
