An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 6, from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery, located in the James F. Miller Fine Arts Center at Linfield.
The group exposition includes paintings, video and photography by artists exploring the roles and relationships of alter egos and split personalities. Portland artists include Shawna Ferrera, MK Guth, Tony Hilsmier, Dylan Kiewel and Brandie Mannon. New York artists are Molly Dilworth, Alex Hubbard and Alois Kronsclaeger.
"The silent conversations inside our heads are more convoluted and complex than are those we dare express aloud," said Cris Moss, gallery director. "They are too often colored by internal contradictions; who we are vs. who we want to be. The work of the artists manifests their own inner dialogues: metaphors for aggression, isolation, desire and tension."
The Linfield exhibit is free and open to the public. The Linfield Fine Art Gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. To reach the gallery from 99W, turn east on Keck Drive at the McMinnville Market Center in south McMinnville. Turn right into the first parking lot, near the corner of Lever Street. The art gallery is located in the James F. Miller Fine Arts Center, west of the Vivian A. Bull Music Center and north of Nicholson Library. For more information, call 503-883-2804.
