WEDNESDAY, AUG. 30
OPENING CONVOCATION: Opening convocation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 30, at 4 p.m. in the Ted Wilson Gymnasium at Linfield College. President Thomas L. Hellie will speak on "Linfield 2020: Navigation in a Flattened World." The program is free and open to the public.
ART EXHIBIT: "Alter Egos," a group exposition of national artists exploring the roles and relationships of alter egos and split personalities, will be on display Aug. 30 through Sept. 29 in the Linfield Fine Art Gallery. In addition, recent work by Liz Obert, associate professor of art, will be on display in the Annex Gallery. An opening reception will be held Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 5 p.m. in the gallery. READING: Garth Stein, an acclaimed documentary filmmaker and author of two novels, will present a reading Thursday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Jereld R. Nicholson Library. PLAY: The Department of Theatre and Communication Arts will present its student Icebreaker, 30 Neo-Futurist Plays from "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (30 Plays in 60 Minutes)," Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 21-23.
