4/21/2006 Linfield students featured in First Thursday exhibit
McMINNVILLE ? The work of Linfield College senior thesis art students will be featured at the Portland Art Center May 4-27.
The exhibit, "Five Folks: A Variety Show," will kick off with a First Thursday Opening on Thursday, May 4, from 6-10 p.m. at the Open Space Gallery of the Portland Art Center, located at 32 NW 5th St. in Portland.
The exhibit will feature the art of five seniors including Mary Doyle of Livingston, Mont.; James Duckworth of Great Falls, Mont.; Caitlin Hendrick of Edmonds, Wash.; Joann Lundberg of Portland; and Elizabeth Spencer of Bellevue, Wash. Work includes painting, photography, sculpture and digital images.
The exhibit is a culmination of the students' dynamic range of styles and approaches, according to Cris Moss, Linfield College gallery director.
"The work on display will be a window into the thoughts and practices of these students as they leave the academic institution," said Moss.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Portland Art Center at 503-236-3322 or www.portlandart.org, or the Linfield College Art and Visual Culture Department at 503-883-2804.
