The evening is free and open to the public.
The performance will mark the culmination of Belsome-Brenes' Linfield education. She will graduate in May with a bachelor's degree in music vocal performance.
Belsome-Brenes, a mezzo-soprano, will perform pieces by Hopkinson, Literes, Handel, Rodrigo, Obradors, Duparc, Copland and Zaninelli. She will be accompanied by Debra Huddleston on piano.
At Linfield, Belsome-Brenes has been active in the Linfield Concert Choir, Masterworks Choral, Women?s Ensemble and the Linfield Opera Workshop. She is also a member of Key Club and Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, and serves as the community coordinator for Leadership and Development for Linfield Residence Life.
Prior to her arrival at Linfield, Belsome-Brenes was a member of the New Orleans Children's Choir and participated in various regional and local competitions. She has also performed in Montreal, Canada, Carnegie Hall in New York City and for the Pope in Vatican City, Rome.
After graduation, Belsome-Brenes will pursue a career in residence life in the college and university system.
