The afternoon performance will feature groups made up mainly of students. Ensembles include two Linfield Brass Trios and the Linfield Wind Symphony Brass Choir, all led by Joan Haaland Paddock, professor of music; the Linfield Flute Ensemble, conducted by Denise Westby, adjunct professor of music; the Linfield Woodwind Quintet, under the direction of Steve Kravitz, adjunct professor of music; the Linfield String Ensemble, conducted by Karen Vincent, adjunct professor of music; the Linfield Cello Ensemble, led by 2004 Linfield graduate Melanie Schalock and coached by Sherill Roberts, adjunct professor of music; and the Linfield Percussion Ensemble, conducted by Kirsten Swanson, adjunct professor of music.
The recital will feature an original work, "When 50=6" by Sean Branchfield, a Linfield senior and member of the Linfield Woodwind Quintet. Students will also play music by composers including J.C. Bach, P. Neuman and Dmitri Shostakovich and others.
