4/8/2005 Linfield student set to give senior recital

McMINNVILLE - Linfield College student Patricia Kuns of Beaverton will present her senior voice recital Sunday, April 24, at 4 p.m. in Melrose Auditorium.

The performance will mark the culmination of Kuns’ musical education at Linfield. She will perform pieces by Bellini, Donaudy, Schubert, de Falla, Turina, Hoiby, Barber, Zaninelli and Foster, ranging from the Baroque period to the 20th century. She will be accompanied by pianist Debra Huddleston, adjunct professor of music, and sophomore Laura Mattingly on flute.

Kuns, a music vocal performance major, is the daughter of Doug and Jeri Kuns of Beaverton and a 2001 graduate of Southridge High School. While at Linfield she has participated in Phi Sigma Sigma sorority, Linfield Women’s Ensemble, the Linfield Concert Choir and SPURS honorary, a service organization.

Following graduation in May, Kuns plans to transfer to the Linfield Portland campus and pursue a second degree in nursing. After receiving her nursing degree, Kuns hopes to become a neonatal intensive care unit nurse.

The recital is free and open to the public. For more information call the Linfield Music Department at 503-883-2275.
