Organizers anticipate a variety of student art including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and electronic media. A collection of human anatomy drawings, resulting from a student-organized Linfield January Term class, will also be displayed, along with one student’s black pen doodle drawing that took 46 days to create.
All Linfield students, including those from the Portland Campus and Adult Degree Program, are invited to participate.
The work will be judged by Gavin Shettler, executive director of the Portland Art Center. Shettler, who attended Texas Christian University and Portland State University, debuted in the Portland art community with the opening of his first gallery, The Gavin Shettler Gallery, in 2000. He was also a founding member of The Portland Center for the Advancement of Culture, a non-profit arts organization focusing on large, temporary art exhibitions.
The Linfield exhibit is free and open to the public. The Linfield Fine Art Gallery is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. To reach the gallery, from 99W in south McMinnville, turn east on Keck Drive at the McMinnville Market Center and turn right into the first parking lot. The art gallery is located on the west end of the parking lot. For more information, call 503-883-2804.
