11/24/2004 UPCOMING EVENTS AT LINFIELD COLLEGE

THURSDAY, DEC. 2

READING: Maura Conlon-McIvor, author of "FBI Girl: How I Learned to Crack My Father’s Code," will present a reading Thursday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Jereld R. Nicholson Library at Linfield College. It is free and open to the public. For more information, call 503-883-2517.

PLAY: "Antigone," the classic Greek tragedy by Sophocles, will continue Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 2-4, at the Marshall Theatre in Ford Hall at Linfield College. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors (62+). Tickets may be purchased at the Marshall Theatre box office Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. Tickets may also be reserved by phone, 503-883-2292, or e-mail, theatre@linfield.edu.

PHILOSOPHY: Naomi Zack, professor of philosophy at the University of Oregon, will present the 35th annual Walter Powell-Linfield College Philosophy Lectures Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 7 and 8, at Linfield College. She will speak on "The Reconstruction of Race in Higher Education: Hope Now" Tuesday, Dec. 7, and on "Rule by Women: Feminist Ideas of Politics, History and Class" Wednesday, Dec. 8. Both lectures will be at 8 p.m. in Jonasson Hall. The lectures are free and open to the public. For more information, call 503-883-2481.
