11/5/2004 Names of casualties of Iraq war will be read at Linfield

McMINNVILLE ? The names of U.S. casualties of the war in Iraq will be read Thursday, Nov. 11, beginning at 10:25 a.m. in the Fred Meyer Lounge at Linfield College.

Faculty and administrators will take part in reading the names, which is expected to continue until after 2 p.m. that day.

"The idea is to mark, in some public way, the sacrifice of those who have died in the current conflict and to deepen the awareness of what war asks of soldiers and of citizens," said Lex Runciman, professor of English, who is organizing the reading.

It is open to the public.
