LECTURE: Kenneth B. Pyle, professor of history and Asian studies at the University of Washington, will speak on "Japan and the War on Terror" Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m. in Jonasson Hall, lower level of Melrose Hall at Linfield College. WEDNESDAY, OCT. 6

EXHIBIT: "Sadao Watanabe - A Collection of Prints from the Linfield Community" will be on display Oct. 6-29 at the James F. Miller Fine Arts Center at Linfield College. An opening reception and slide/lecture will be held Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. in the Fine Art Gallery. Former Watanabe student Anne Pyle will present "Watanabe Sadao and the Tradition of Japanese Folk Art" featuring slides and a technical demonstration. The exhibit is free and open to the public. FACULTY LECTURE: John Sagers, assistant professor of history at Linfield College, will speak on "The Last Samurai: Confucian and Capitalists in Nineteenth Century Japan" as a part of the Linfield faculty lecture series Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in 201 Riley Hall. DEBATEWATCH: The Linfield College forensics program is offering an opportunity to view and discuss the presidential debate on Wednesday, Oct. 13. The debate can be viewed in the media room in the Jereld R. Nicholson Library at Linfield. The debates begins at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast in the Nicholson Library.
