5/12/2004 Several Linfield seniors set to give senior recitals

McMINNVILLE ? Four Linfield College seniors will present senior recitals this weekend.

Stephen Teater of Bend will present a senior composition recital Friday, May 14, at 8 p.m. in Melrose Auditorium. Erika Sandberg of Salem and Traci Johnson of Hood River will present senior voice recitals Saturday, May 15, in Melrose Auditorium. Sandberg’s recital will begin at 3 p.m., and Johnson’s recital will begin at 8 p.m. Amy Hintz of Tigard will present a senior composition recital Sunday, May 16, at 8 p.m. in Melrose Auditorium. The recitals will mark the culmination of their musical educations at Linfield.

Teater, a music theory and composition and studio art major, will perform two pieces on guitar and conduct the remainder of the recital with the accompaniment of several Linfield faculty and students.

Sandberg, a music performance and theatre arts major, will perform pieces by Vivaldi, Handel, Willibald von Gluck, Mozart, Thomas, Mahler, Sch?rg and Sondheim during her voice recital. Several other Linfield students will accompany her throughout her performance.

Johnson, a general music, vocal performance and English major, will perform pieces by Melani, Schumann, Lalo, Faur鬠Koechlin, Rodrigo, Sondheim, Copland and Blitzstein during her voice recital. She will be accompanied by freshman Amelia Roberts on cello, junior Dan Schafer on trumpet and Debra Huddleston on harpsichord.

Hintz, a music theory and composition major, will perform three piano and voice pieces and conduct the remainder of the recital. The pieces performed are all composed by Hintz.
