11/11/2003 Asian culture week will be held at Linfield

McMINNVILLE ? Linfield College will host Asian Culture Week Nov. 17-21 with a variety of campus events.

On Tuesday, Nov. 18, there will be Gamelan style Indonesian music at 8 p.m. in Fred Meyer Lounge in Riley Hall. Music will be presented by Kyai Guntursariis, an Indonesian percussion and wind instrumental group that has taken part in activities on campus in previous years.

Other Asian Culture Week events include a movie at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, in Withnell Commons and an Asian arts and literature night at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, also in Withnell Commons. On Thursday, Nov. 20, an Asian Culture Club meeting will feature games, food and music, and on Friday, Nov. 21, there will be karaoke and games. Both events will take place at 7 p.m. in Fred Meyer Lounge in Riley Hall.
