SATURDAY, NOV. 1

TALENT SHOW: Linfield College students will display their talents at the 11th annual Black Student Union Talent Show Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Melrose Auditorium. MONDAY, NOV. 3

COURT: The Oregon Supreme Court will hear oral arguments Monday, Nov. 3, in Melrose Auditorium at Linfield College. For more information, call 503-883-2498.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 5

RACISM: "Words of our Students," an interactive racism scene, will be presented on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 4 p.m. in 201 Riley Hall at Linfield College. The scene will be performed by interACT, a California State University Long Beach performance troupe. A talk-back session where the audience can interact with the cast will follow the 50-minute performance. It is free and open to the public. For more information, call 503-883-2625.

THURSDAY, NOV. 6

THEATRE: "The Crucible," Arthur Miller's Tony Award-winning historical drama about the witch hunts in Salem, Mass., will be presented Nov. 6-8 and 14-15 at 8 p.m., Nov. 9 at 1:30 p.m. and Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. All performances will be in Marshall Theatre, located in Ford Hall at Linfield College. Tickets are $7 for general admission and $5 for students, faculty and staff. For reservations call 503-883-2292 or by e-mail at theatre@linfield.edu. Box office hours are 3-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with expanded box office hours on performance days.

BEIJING OPERA: A lecture/demonstration on the "Beijing Opera: Tradition, Techniques and Characters" will be presented Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 8 p.m. in Melrose Auditorium. LECTURE: Brenda Smith, dean of nursing at the Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Portland, will speak on "Amazing Discovery: Studying Really Works" on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in 201 Riley Hall on the McMinnville campus. FORENSICS: The 73rd annual R.D. Mahaffey Memorial Forensics Tournament will be held Nov. 14-16 at Linfield College. The tournament, sponsored by Linfield, is one of the oldest intercollegiate tournaments in the Northwest and honors Mahaffey for his pioneering efforts with forensics in the Northwest and the nation.
