WEDNESDAY, FEB. 12

FACULTY LECTURE: Barbara Seidman, professor of English at Linfield College, will present "You Will Hardly Know Who I am or What I Mean: Contemporary Literary Autobiography in a Sea of Me" on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in 201 Riley Hall. Seidman will discuss the issues at the heart of an on-going debate over whether the memoir is replacing the novel in contemporary American literature. The lecture is free and open to the public. THURSDAY, FEB. 13

ARTIST'S LECTURE: Nils Lou, professor of art at Linfield College, will present a lecture at the opening reception of his exhibit, "Burnt Vessels and Assorted Paintings," which is on display in the Fine Art Gallery in the James F. Miller Fine Arts Center at Linfield through Feb. 28. The Linfield Fine Art Gallery is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, call 503-883-2275.

RECITAL: Molly Wheeler, a 1997 Linfield College graduate, will present a recital Friday, Feb. 21, at 8 p.m. in Melrose Auditorium at Linfield. She will perform works by Haydn, Schubert, Ravel and Prokofiev. The recital is free and open to the public. For more information, call 503-883-2275.

MONDAY, FEB. 24

KEYBOARD KAPERS: Thirteen Linfield College students, all pianists and organists, will perform during "Keyboard Kapers" Monday, Feb. 24, at 4 p.m. in Melrose Auditorium. The students, all music majors or minors at Linfield, will perform works by Bach, Chopin, Haydn, Schubert and others. For more information, call 503-883-2275.

READING: John Day, professor emeritus of physics, will discuss his book, "The Book of Clouds," Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in Jonasson Hall, lower level of Melrose Hall at Linfield College. The reading is free and open to the public. For more information, call 503-883-2517.

FRIDAY, FEB. 28

RECITAL: Jill Timmons, professor of music, will be featured in a recital with guest soloist, soprano Janice Johnson, Friday, Feb. 28, at 8 p.m. in Melrose Auditorium at Linfield College. The two have performed as a duo throughout the Northwest since 1998. Their program will feature works for voice and piano by Liszt, Berlioz and Wagner. It is free and open to the public.
