11/15/2002 Linfield Thanksgiving service planned
McMINNVILLE ? Community service will be the theme of the annual Linfield College Thanksgiving service.
Four Linfield organizations will be recognized and honored for their community service during "Thanksgiving: A Service of Gratitude Showing Gratitude for Service" Sunday, Nov. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in Melrose Auditorium.
In addition to the recognition ceremony, Rev. Stephan W. Ross, pastor at McMinnville United Methodist Church, will speak. Ross, in his fourth year as pastor in McMinnville, has extensive pastoral and leadership experience. He most recently served as pastor at Burley United Methodist Church in Burley, Idaho. He has served as vice president and board member for the McMinnville Downtown Association and is a member of the McMinnville Lions Club. He holds a bachelor's degree from Portland State University and a master of divinity from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, Calif.
The Pass the Salt band, featuring Rob Rife, Paul Adams, Michelle Pierce, and Bob and Nancy McCann, will provide music during the service. The Linfield concert choir, under the direction of Larry Marsh, will perform special music as well as a musical call to worship and benediction.
