Registration for the weekend will be Friday, Oct. 11, from 3 to 8 p.m. in Riley Hall. Events include a tour of the James F. Miller Fine Arts Center from 3 to 5 p.m. and "Comedy Sportz" at 8 p.m. in Melrose Auditorium. This will be followed by the Family Weekend Dessert at 10 p.m. in Riley Hall. Cost for the dessert is $2.
Several events are planned for Saturday, Oct. 12, beginning with registration in Riley Hall and a family brunch in Dillin Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost for the brunch is $5. Vivian Bull, president of Linfield College, will present "Linfield 2002" from 11 a.m. to noon in Jonasson Hall. She will discuss the current expansion under way on the Keck Campus, including construction of the new library and theatre facility as well as provide an overview of current and future programs at Linfield.
Saturday events also include Linfield soccer matches against Pacific Lutheran University at noon and 2:30 p.m. The football team will meet the University of Puget Sound at 1:30 p.m. at Maxwell Field. Cost for the game is $5 for general admission and $8 for reserved seating.
The final competition for the "Linfield Idol" talent contest will be held at 8 p.m. in Melrose Auditorium. The contestants will perform two songs, followed by a critique by the judges, with the winner determined by a vote from the audience. The three finalists for the event are freshman Lauren Buchwach and juniors Amy Hintz and Molly Johnson. The finalists are vying for a $100 prize. Admission to the show is free.
