5/7/2009 Final choir concert presented at Linfield
McMINNVILLE – Two Linfield College choral ensembles will be featured in the Spring Choral Concert Sunday, May 17, at 4 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall at Linfield. This concert will be the final choir performance of the year.
The concert will be directed by Anna Song, adjunct professor of music, and will feature the Linfield Concert Choir and the Linfield Singers. The program includes “Rejoice in the Lamb” by Benjamin Britten accompanied by Debra Huddleston on the organ, “Ain’t That Good News” by William Dawson, “Ah, Robin, Gentle, Robin” by William Cornysh and “Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes” by John Wall Callcott. The performance will also include choral music by Pärt, Vaughan Williams and Ticheli, and a variety of other styles.
Song earned her bachelor’s in composition from UCLA and her master’s in conducting from the School of Music and the Institution of Sacred Music at Yale University. She has been directing choirs and teaching music in the Portland area since 2001. Currently she serves as music teacher at Holy Redeemer School and as director of the St. Rose Youth Choir in Portland. She is also the artistic director of In Mulieribus, a professional women’s ensemble.
