5/4/2009 Linfield hosts panel on wine industry careers
McMINNVILLE – Two panels focusing on careers in the wine industry will be presented at Linfield College.
Panels featuring Linfield graduates in the wine industry will be held Tuesday, May 12, and Thursday, May 14, at noon in Jonasson Hall, lower level of Melrose Hall at Linfield.
The May 12 panel, “What Vintners are Looking for Today,” will feature vineyard owners Jody Bogle VanDePol of Bogle Winery, class of 1995; Amber Fries of Desert Wind Winery, class of 2000; and Eric McLaughlin of Willamette Valley Vineyards, class of 1996. The three will talk about necessary attributes for running a successful vineyard and the skills that are important in new employees.
On May 14, “Entering the Wine Industry” will examine what it is like to work in the dynamic wine industry from the perspective of young professionals. Panelists include Fries; Whitney Gauger of the International Pinot Noir Celebration, class of 2001; Kitri McGuire of Sokol Blosser, class of 2003; and KC Marold of Panther Creek Cellars, class of 2007.
