SATURDAY, MAY 2

WORSHIP: The Linfield Chaplain’s Office will present a Taize Worship Service on Saturday, May 2, at 8 p.m. in the Pioneer Reading Room in Pioneer Hall at Linfield. For more information, call 503-883-2259.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, MAY 2-3

SENIOR RECITALS: Two Linfield College music students will present senior recitals May 2 and 3 in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall at Linfield. Andy Munn will present a senior composition recital on Saturday, May 2, at 7 p.m. Tenor Sam Dinsmore will present a senior recital on Sunday, May 3, at 8 p.m. The recitals are free and open to the public. MONDAY AND TUESDAY, MAY 4-5

PHILOSOPHY LECTURE: Michael P. Nelson, associate professor of environmental ethics and philosophy at Michigan State University, will present “Wolf, Moose, Philosopher: Environmental Ethics and the Isle Royale Wolf-Moose Project," Monday, May 4, and "American Indian Environmental Ethics: Accessing, Assessing and Abstracting," Tuesday, May 5. Both lectures will be at 7:30 p.m. in 101 Graf Hall at Linfield. The lectures are free and open to the public and sponsored through the Walter Powell-Linfield College Philosophy Lectureship Endowment. For more information, call 503-883-2760.

THEATRE: The Linfield College theatre will present “Book of Days,” May 7-10 and 14-16 at the Marshall Theatre in Ford Hall. Under the direction of Ellyn Gersh Lerner, a visiting director from Los Angeles, Calif., performances will be May 7-9 and 14-16 at 8 p.m., and May 10 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $9 for full price and $7 for students and seniors (62+), with a $2 discount on opening night. JAZZ NIGHT: The Linfield College Music Department will host a Jazz Night concert on Friday, May 15, at 8 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall at Linfield. CHAMBER MUSIC RECITAL: A Chamber Music Recital will be presented Tuesday, May 19, at 4 p.m. in Delkin Hall in the Vivian A. Bull Music Center at Linfield College.The recital will include performances by the Linfield Flute Choir, Brass Trio, Guitar Trio, Brass Quintet, Saxophone Quartet, Woodwind Quintet, Women’s Vocal Ensemble, Cello Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and the Linfield Wind Symphony. LIVELY ARTS: International performers Jill Timmons and Laura Klugherz will close out the year’s Linfield Lively Arts Concert Series with two concerts, Wednesday, May 20, and Thursday, May 21, at 8 p.m. in the Delkin Recital Hall in the Vivian A.
