McMINNVILLE – “Volcanoes,” a collection of new paintings by Portland artist Timothy Scott Dalbow, will run April 15 through May 13 in the Linfield College Fine Art Gallery in the James F. Miller Fine Arts Center. An opening reception will be held Wednesday, April 15, at 6 p.m. in the gallery.

The paintings are a result of Dalbow’s interest in the various volcanic mountains throughout Oregon and Washington. With broad strokes and a colorful pallet, Dalbow creates an abstracted rendition of dormant volcanoes.

Dalbow has exhibited extensively in Portland, both solo and in groups, at galleries including New American Art Union, Haze Gallery, Fleck Gallery, Laura Russo Gallery and Mark Wooley Gallery.

The Linfield exhibit is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. To reach the gallery from 99W, turn east on Keck Drive at the McMinnville Market Center in south McMinnville. Turn right at the first street onto Library Court. The art gallery is located in the second building on the left, Building B. Parking is available on the street and in the lot west of Nicholson Library. For a campus map, go to www.linfield.edu/admission/visit/map.php. Miller Fine Arts Center is number 56.
