10/22/2008 Forensics students participate in recent competition
McMINNVILLE – Five Linfield College forensics students competed in the Pioneer Invitational at Lewis and Clark College in Portland Oct. 10-12.
Thirty colleges and universities from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Texas, Kentucky and California participated in the event. There were two preliminary rounds followed by a final round of eleven individual events.
Kate Peterson, a senior from Bozeman, Mont., won first place in an open program of oral interpretation. She also participated in open duo with Darren Valenta, a sophomore from Klamath Falls.
Jake Masin, a sophomore from Bend; Jasmine Klauder, a senior from Klamath Falls; and Hilda Escalera, a sophomore from Hillsboro, also participated in the tournament.
