Schedule of Events
Saturday, May 26
5 p.m.: Baccalaureate Service, Ted Wilson Gymnasium, HHPA Building, McMinnville campus. Cheryl Roberts, president of Chemeketa Community College in Salem, will deliver the baccalaureate address. Seniors should wear cap and gown and line up in the HHPA breezeway at 4:30 p.m. Faculty will assemble at 4:30 p.m. in the HHPA multipurpose room.
Roberts has served as president of CCC since 2007. She has strengthened the college's connection with the community to play an even greater role in workforce development and meeting the diverse educational needs of the Mid-Willamette Valley. She helped launch the popular Chemeketa Scholars Program, through which high performing students in the district apply to attend Chemeketa free of tuition.
6:30 p.m.: Graduating seniors and their families are invited to celebrate the transition from student to alumnus during Grad Finale/Senior Celebration in the Jereld R. Nicholson Library, following baccalaureate exercises. Learn more or register online
Sunday, May 27
9 a.m.: Graduates report to Ted Wilson Gymnasium in cap and gown
9:20 a.m.: Faculty robe in Fred Meyer Lounge
10 a.m.: Commencement on the green between Melrose Hall and the President’s House. Refreshments follow in the Oak Grove.
U. S. Senator Ron Wyden will deliver the commencement address and receive an honorary degree from Linfield College in recognition of his long dedication and public service to the State of Oregon and the nation. Sen. Wyden will hold this distinction in common with the late Senator Mark Hatfield, who was similarly honored by Linfield College in 1971.
2:30 p.m.: Nursing Closing Convocation, Ted Wilson Gymnasium. Line up at 2:10 in academic regalia. Fred Calixtro, assistant professor of nursing, will be the faculty speaker and Heidi Frawley ’12 will be the student speaker.
