President - Kaitlyn Frazier I am a member of the Spring 2013 cohort and with just one more year left in school I am excited to see where nursing can take me. I have lived in the Portland area for nearly all of my life, except for a stint in Corvallis, where I received my first degree in Biology at Oregon State University in 2010. So yes… I am a die-hard Beaver fan and you can often find me sporting my black and orange gear. I wanted to join student government because I think it is important that students have a say in their education. It is my hope that your concerns and/or excitements be relayed to the staff and faculty and that together, we can make the best of our education. |

Vice-President - Taylor Lovell Hey everyone, my name is Taylor Lovell and I am your 2012-2013 Vice-President! I was a class senator last year, and I was really wanting to take on a bigger challenge within student government, so I am very excited to be the VP this year! I was born and raised in Pendleton, Oregon and spent my first two years of college on the Mac campus. I love running/working out, reading new books, being active in the community, and candy!! I am really looking forward to being a nurse, but I have no clue what field I want to go into. I do know that I would like to eventually go back to school and become a Nurse Practitioner. One of my passions is educating others about diabetes, because I was diagnosed with Type 1 when I was 9 years old. I had the opportunity to study abroad in the Bahamas last Jan Term educating the local people about diabetes management and how to live a healthier lifestyle, and it really opened my eyes to traveling and different ways to become involved in healthcare and helping others. I hope to do lots of traveling in my life, but right now I am focused and excited on this year and what it has in store! |

Treasurer - Jeff Helbling Hi, I’m Jeff your treasurer!!!! I love water sports and wind sports, sailing and kites are my hobbies. When water hits the magical temperature of 32* and the rain turns to snow I love snowboarding! I attended Portland State for two years before transferring to Linfield. At PSU I had an athletic career competing in the PAC-10, I will let you guess what sport. I was drawn to nursing because we get to be in the center of everything, spend the most time with patients, and of course nurses are the coolest! As your treasurer I am very excited to bring my skills as an accomplished mathalete (yes, I have won competitions) and work experience of designing inventory management systems for helicopter parts to help improve our campus. |

Secretary - Emily Lee Hello, I’m Emily, your ASLC-PC Secretary! I was born and raised in Roseburg, Oregon. I fulfilled my prerequisites at the McMinnville Campus and started nursing school at the Portland Campus in Fall 2011. I found my passion for nursing while working at an assisted living in Roseburg during the summer and holidays since graduating high school. Although my medical experience is mainly with the elderly population, I hope to specialize in OB because I have an interest in embryology and women’s health. Outside of school, I enjoy swimming, hiking, running, reading, and spending time with my family and friends. I am excited to work with the other members of ASLC-PC to make the Portland Campus an even stronger community! |

Health Science Senator - Alisa Peak Hi! My name is Alisa, I was born in Washington but grew up most of my life in Salem, OR. I transferred from the McMinnville campus to the Portland campus in the fall of 2010 as a nursing student, and switched my major to Public Health just last fall of 2011. My ethnicity is Korean and I can speak both Korean and English fluently, but English was my second language to begin with. After obtaining my bachelors in public health from Linfield I hope to reapply to the nursing program or PA program and incorporate public health education in the healthcare field. Throughout the year, I have been through a lot and learned a lot about myself. Running for Health Science Senator was another way to see how far I can push myself and to have a voice for the Health Science students…Im excited to be part of student government this year and am anxious to see what Linfield has to offer! |

August 2013 Class Senator (August 2012 Start Class Senator) - Shaunessy Rogers Hey there! I'm Shaunessy, Class Senator for the accelerated 2012 Summer Start Cohort. I'm from a small town in Southern Utah. I moved to Portland in 2008 after graduating from the University of Utah with a degree in Biology. I worked as a research tech and lab manager at OHSU for a few years before discovering that I really wanted to be a nurse. Although lately I spend most of my time studying, I also enjoy hiking, snowboarding, playing board games, and spending time with my family and two wiener dogs. I'm keeping an open mind as to what area of nursing I want to work in, but hope to pursue a DNP in the future. I look forward to representing my cohort and having a great experience at Linfield! Thanks! Shaunessy

December 2013 Senator (2012 Spring Start Class Senator) - Amber Bernosky Hello, I am the new class senator for the Spring '12 start cohort! I officially only have a year left! I have enjoyed my time at Linfield and this last semester I was very involved with my cohort and realized that I was sad that I didn't get involved from the begining, so when the opportunity presented itself I took it! I was born in northern Nevada where I have spent half of my life then moved to and graduated from high school in Salem, where I still currently live and make the brave commute each day. When I am not at school or studying I am either working or planning my wedding which is happening this Summer. I also enjoy running, biking, crafting, and sleeping.

May 2014 Class Senator (Fall 2012 Start Class Senator) - James Rhodes My name is James, I’m happy to be the Fall-start Class Senator this year. I’m almost a native Oregonian but not quite, I was born in Chicago and came here to Portland when I was 4 so I definitely still have connections there but this is home for me. This is my 5th year at Linfield, I finished my biology degree in 2011 and I’m looking forward to continuing here as I pursue becoming a nurse practitioner. I have some experience working with the elderly and with developmentally disabled kids so that’s a big age range but I’m still undecided as to what kind of NP I would like to be. Outside of school I’m a big sports fan, I’m all for the Ducks, Cubs, Blazers, Bears, and Blackhawks, and I like rock-climbing or playing football and basketball. Looking forward to the year I think it will be a great one, as with everyone on ASLC if you have questions or ideas please let us know! |

I was raised in Eagle River, Alaska, so coming to the big ole' city of Portland this fall has been quite a new experience! I came from the McMinnville campus, where I played lacrosse (rather poorly..) and learned how to solve a rubik's cube in stellar time as part of the ever so [un]popular Cube Club! I love hiking, running, reading, and of course indulging in my favorite shows (seasons at a time thanks to handy Netflix!). I hope to work as a community nurse, with my absolute dream job as a school nurse or nurse at a correctional facility. Anywho, enough about me; I am here to represent you all, so plese let me know if there is anything I can do for you!! |

Community Senator - Jordan Reed Hey everyone! My name is Jordan Reed and I am one of the ASLC-PC Community Senators. I am from Albany, Oregon and have lived in that lovely town my whole life. I went to the McMinnville campus to fulfill my prerequisites and started nursing school here in Fall 2011. Outside of school, I am on worship team at my church in Albany where I play piano and/or sing. Music is a passion of mine along with partaking in sports! Volleyball and basketball are my favorites, but I am willing to play mostly anything to keep active. I have known I wanted to be a nurse since I was little. Helping and caring for people has always been a passion of mine and I plan on continuing this after school. My ultimate goal is to be a labor and delivery nurse because well lets face it…babies are so cute! Besides that, I love sharing the moment with families when they see their new child being born and being a part of their care. |
