Josh Price

President - Josh Price

I have lived in SE Portland for nine years. I moved here without a car, which has enabled me to become an avid bicyclist.  I commute to school by bike and I ventured on a 3000 mile ride to Michigan. My favorite book is  “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.”

I cannot possibly live without my duvet cover. I have a white down comforter, which has become quite dirty over time. I was afraid of ruining the comforter by washing it, being down and all. I will never forget the day when I was at Ikea and discovered that a washable cover, duvet, for comforters exists.  Prior to my discovery of the duvet cover, $15, I was prepared to spend another $150 on a new comforter. Duvet cover, Thank You.

My favorite drink Iced Sun Tea

. My lasting memory is there really is 10 girls to one guy at Linfield’s School of Nursing.

Vice-President - Jay Roberts

I am the father of 3 kids two of which are 2 ½ y/o twin girls. I work and go to school. I also enjoy snowboarding, surfing, and being outdoors whenever time permits. My favorite book is Illusions by Richard Bach. When I'm not studying I would like to be snowboarding, surfing, watching football, or relaxing in the sun on a beach...any of which could be alone or with friends and/or family. Something unique about me? I'm the father of twin GIRLS (does that count?)

Jeremy Jasnoch

Student Events Coordinator - Jeremy Jasoch

I have been a student for almost 5 semesters now, and I want to help create a fun and energetic atmosphere on campus. I like hanging out with my friends when I am not studying, and music is something I cannot live without. And when I am hanging with my friends, my choice of beverages is Good ol’ H20. At the moment, all my books have a nice thick layer of dust of them, so I really don’t have a favorite book.

Treasurer - Gina Drew

My least favorite place to visit is anywhere that is hot and crowded. My favorite book is She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb. When I am not studying, my favorite activity is knitting/crocheting or hiking. My favorite memory of the first semester is practicing bed baths and brushing a fellow student's teeth. My abs hurt for 2 days from all the uncontrollable laughter.

Secretary - Gail Meeker

If I could pick any color of scrubs to wear, it would be red. My least favorite place to visit is Jiffy Lube. My favorite book is The River Why. I cannot live without chips and salsa, and my favorite drink is grapefruit juice. I love taking long walks through Forest Park. Something unique about me is I like chickens. My favorite memory of the first semester is Professor Welch’s untold stories of the ER.

Tomi Lesh

Club Liaison - Tomi Lesh

I am active at Linfield, and my plan is to make it a fun and energized environment. Besides being involved with ASLC, I am also the LSNA President. Outside of Linfield, I am currently completing a prestigious nurse residency program (VALOR) at the VA hospital. I've never visited a spot that I couldn't find something to like about it. My cat Edgar (who is a girl) is the best study buddy and is also a good listener. If I could pick any color of scrubs to wear, it would be blue, that ‘s why I chose Linfield : ). My favorite memory of first semester was watching everyone perform their skits for Nur 103. Especially watching the guys dress up like girls. Our cohort loves acting silly and everyone went all out!

Liz Patail

Committee Liason -  Liz Patail

I live by PSU campus with my hubby (who will be graduating this year with his masters from PSU) and my sweet cat Odo! My least favorite place to visit is
SIM lab; give me an exam or 20-page paper any day!
Something unique about me is I have a four inch scar on my forehead from when my car was hit by a city bus in CA.
I've come to appreciate our navy blue scrubs, I think any blue hue is nice because it can be a calming color for patients. What is the one thing I cannot live without?
Free time! It's true that nursing school is really busy but it's up to us to take breaks for ourselves and MAKE time to do the things we enjoy. Sometimes something as simple as a walk or maybe even taking a weekend off is more important than studying, because it will mean a healthier you in the long run (and chances are it will actually HELP your grade).
When I am not studying, my favorite activity is spending time with my wonderful, wonderful husband Marty. He has been so supportive during school and we have so much fun relaxing together.

Communication Relation Liason - DeEtte Peck

I am a mother of two teenagers, in which one will graduate from 8th grade and the other from high school when I graduate with my BSN. I am active both on campus and off campus. I spend my time at working at the VA hospital as a student nurse tech, and a volunteer at Impact NW in the Medication Assessment program. My favorite color of scrubs to wear would be green, like Kermit the frog green. I do not like Yuma, Arizona – very little green there. My favorite activity outside of my nursing program is spending time with my daughters. They have taught me how to enjoy life and I love the people that they have become.

December 2010 Senator - Donna

I have two previous degrees in stuff completely unrelated to nursing, but I'm glad that I've finally found a profession I can enjoy. When I'm not studying or going to school, I enjoy reading books for fun and taking pictures. I once owned my own photography business specializing in photojournalistic children's photography. I LOVE taking pictures, so I'm often seen clicking away. SMILE! My choice of scrubs would be pink. Anything pink! I cannot live without oxygen, and my favorite book is Eat, Pray, Love. When I'm done here, I hope to be a labor and delivery nurse. After I've recovered from being burned out on school, I plan to go back to get my Master's in Midwifery. In the meantime, I take life one day at a time to stay sane and clear-headed.

May 2011 Senator  - Erica Bailey

I am 40 years old and a single mom to a wonderful five-year old daughter, Dylan.  We moved here four years ago from Hawaii. My desire to provide a stable future for her has driven me through the last four years of school and continues to motivate me everyday. I have not decided which area of nursing I will pursue, but it will likely be an avenue that I can apply my passion for social justice and health promotion while working with disparate communities.  I love being involved on campus and am truly honored to represent my fabulous cohort as their class senator. I also enjoy contributing to the school newsletter, Vital Statistics. My favorite book is definitely "To Kill a Mockingbird". I have always wanted to be Scout. One thing I cannot live without is probably integrity. As far as my favorite activity, I will let you know after I pass the NCLEX.

May 2011 Senator - Devin Ollar

I am 20 years old, born and raised in Eugene Or. I played many sports throughout my life including track, softball, soccer, volleyball and basketball. Above all volleyball was my favorite and most practiced sport. I have 9 siblings with both my combined families and I am pretty much in the middle. I have a wiener dog at home named Chloe who I love. I enjoy doing all kinds of arts and crafts as well as outdoor activities. I currently work in the computer lab at school and spend most of my winter free time watching the office, Heroes, Family Guy and Modern Family (amazing!).

Community Senator - Beth Hayes

I am currently on the board for Nursing Students Without Borders and the campus newsletter. I am also involved in LSNA and try to be active in other campus events as well. I am working on fundraising and planning for our graduation party. I used to sing alto in a choir in Portland, but had to quit due to the demands of school. In May 2006 we were invited to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York. Many of us traveled to NY to perform Mozart's Mass in C Minor.

My favorite memory is my first experience in sim lab. It was both traumatic and hilarious all at once. I'd share the memory but "what happens in sim lab stays in sim lab. Coffee, coffee, coffee. It's what keeps me going each and every day! Mostly, I like to hang out with friends at watch football. If it's not football season I still try to hang out with friends and relax as much as possible.

Community Senator - Sarah Koehler

I like to look at the world through a lens of possibility and opportunity rather than a filter of limitation and routine. A big part of Linfield philosophy is training up leaders in nursing, not just nurses who fulfill task positions. My least favorite place to visit are cookie-cutter housing neighborhoods with perfectly landscaped yards that all look the same.

When I am not studying, my favorite activity is HIKING!

 My favorite drink is water

. Something unique about me is I like dill pickles and mustard...together. Linfield is MY college and I want to own it by being involved.

 Community Senator - Kerith Olson

Increasingly over my time here at Linfield I have become more involved in school activities including leading review sessions (106 & 206), LSNA member and chapter treasurer, proctoring HESI exams, helping to start PRN - the Peer Resource Network mentoring program, O-Team, fundraising for our graduation, and a Community Senator! On the side, I have worked for a local music school, handling their marketing and accounting duties, and work at the VA as a Student Nurse Technician.

Community Senator - Mike Spear

My favorite book is probably Dawkin's "the greatest show on earth".

Having tasted it for the first time relatively recently; I don't think I could live without mango mochi

. My favorite memory of the 1st semester was presenting and watching our 103 video in class, which was embarrassing and awkward, but I laughed my butt off so it was worth it

. When I'm not studying I love to sit down and enjoy a good video game :) I enjoyed my time at Linfield through becoming a member of the Blue Dot Society and frequently participating in volunteer activities from the Portland Marathon to helping homebound seniors through Loaves and Fishes. Linfield is a rare school due to faculty who have an earnest desire to not only listen to their students' feedback, but take a proactive stance in making changes as well. I strive to keep you updated on the latest developments at Linfield alongside doing my best to make sure you get the best possible experience during your time here.

Community Senator - Andrew Wilson

I am from Bend Oregon. I joined the 2011 cohort as a transfer from Oregon State University (GO BEAVS!) and I enjoy almost any outdoors activity and ping pong! It became clear nursing was for me after I supported my Grandpa through his battle with bone cancer. Since then I have been on the journey to become a real live nurse. Being an ASLC-PC community senator allows me to get more involved in Linfield’s community and work closely with students and faculty. I do this through committee positions, contributing and participating in campus events, and being a student and nurse advocate.  My least favorite place to visit is the laundromat. Something unique about me is I am dude in nursing school. My favorite drink is a root beer float. I am looking forward to my remaining time here at Linfield and all the memories that will come with it.
