Student Event/Fundraiser Registeration and Room Reservations

To register your student event and/or fundraiser, please fill out this online form.  Once your event/fundraiser is approved you will be sent a confirmation email with a room reservation and your event will be added to the online Portland Campus calendar.  You may not begin advertising your event and/or fundraiser until you get the confirmation email.


  

Academic Success Center

The Academic Success Center (ASC) is a space dedicated for student learning.  It contains extra textbooks, computer carols and comfortable seating for students who want to find a quite space to study alone or in groups.  The ASC is also where Peer Tutoring sessions are held on a weekly basis as well as other speciality learning workshops. 


 

Cafeteria and Food Service

LoveJoy Station, Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital Cafeteria, is located on the first floor of the hospital and provides food services seven days a week for students, employees, and the public.  Pre-paid meal cards may be purchased from a cafeteria cashier or from the Director of Housing.  Multiple times during the year the Hospital provides discounts on pre-paid cards that many students take advantage of.  

In addition to cafeteria service, you will find students eating at the numerous cafes, coffee shops, and restaurants found in NW Portland.  Many local eateries offer discounts with a valid Student ID card.    

The campus commuter lounge in Loveridge Hall has a refrigerator, microwave, food and beverage vending machines, and free utensils for student use.  


 

Commuter Lounge and Lockers

Loveridge Hall has two lounges that commuter students can use during their time on campus.  The Wildcat Den (first floor) has comfortable multi-use furniture, an enclosed patio with outside seating, a study room perfect for studying in or for group meetings, and a game room to let the stress out!  The Commuter Lounge (basement) has a tv, couches, and tables and chairs as well as a refrigerator, microwaves, and utensils for student use. 

Across from the Commuter Lounge is a private room available for any member of our campus community who is breastfeeding.

A limited number of lockers are available for commuter students in the basement of Loveridge Hall.  ASLC-PC is responsible for locker assignments.


 

Fitness Center

Student Services has partnered with LA Fitness in providing discounted memberships at any of their fitness clubs.  You may pick up a voucher from the Director of Student Services.  A limited number of half-off LA Fitness membershps are also available for current students each term.  Current students should watch their Linfield email as availabilty of these membership opens will be posted there. 


 

Public Transportation Discount Tickets

Discount Tri-Met ticket books for current students can be purchased at any time from the Director of Student Services.  Student Government subsidizes a portion of these tickets so they are only available to current students.  All Portland Campus students can ride the Portland Streetcar for FREE with their valid Linfield ID card.


 

Security & Safety

In an EMERGENCY, CALL 911, followed by LEGACY SECURITY DISPATCH at 503-413-7911 or 37911 from a campus phone. (Be sure to state your location including 'Linfield/Good Sam' since the dispatcher manages all Legacy campuses). 

If you experience an escalated security issue or witness suspicious activity on campus, call Legacy Security Dispatch at 503-413-7911 (37911).

Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital Security is available 24 hours a day. If available, security can provide escort to your car at night and jump-start your car battery.

Student Counseling Services

Psychological counseling is available to students of Linfield College – Portland Campus through a contract with Psychological Service Center.  We offer 8 free and confidential sessions either on-campus in Peterson Hall 319 or off-campus at the Psychological Service Center downtown clinic at 1411 SW Morrison St, Suite 205. 

To make an appointment for on-campus counseling, please call 503-413-7873 or email pdxcounseling@linfield.edu.  For off-campus counseling appointments, please call 503-352-2400.  

Current students may use this free service for individual, group, and family counseling.  Most students take advantage of this service for issues surrounding anxiety/worry, handling life transitions, anger, depression, trauma/loss/grief, relationship problems, self-esteem problems, and parent-child problems.  



Student Health Services
 

All students attending Linfield College – Portland Campus are required to have health insurance coverage.  Students must either purchase a student health insurance policy through the College or sign a waiver indicating that the student, spouse, or parent provides a health insurance policy.

The Legacy Good Samaritan Pharmacy located in the first floor of the Comprehensive Cancer Center on the corner of NW 22nd and Northrup offers a 10% discount with valid Student ID Card for over-the-counter items and prescription medications.
