A True Community
The Linfield College - Portland Campus is a true community
where people know one another well. Our students come from very diverse
backgrounds. Some are recent transfer
students from our McMinnville campus or
other local colleges; others come to their studies with years of working and
living experience - women and men, single or married. Yet all share the goal of
becoming Health Care professionals. We value all the educational, career, and
life paths taken by students to get to our campus and believe each individual
student makes an important contribution to campus life.
Many of our students commute to classes from the greater Portland metropolitan area, while others live on campus in our coed residence facility, Loveridge Hall. This modern brick building offers suites with kitchen and laundry facilities, comfortable lounges, and study areas.
We have an extremely active student government on our campus! Student members organize a variety of activities ranging from casual outings and campus community gatherings to many family friendly activities throughout the year. Students also hold leadership positions on many of the campus committees to ensure that student voices are heard. We have strong student involvement in campus clubs such as Linfield Student Nurses Association, Blue Dot Society, Holistic Nursing Club, WildCatheters, Reuser, Breathe, and a chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, an international nursing honor society dedicated to research and scholarship.
