BSN Curriculum

The nursing faculty has developed a cohesive set of course, level, and curriculum outcomes for the nursing program that prepare the student for professional nursing practice. The outcomes are focused on seven critical nursing practice concepts and increase in complexity as the curriculum progresses.

Students achieve these outcomes at program completion:

  • Utilizes clinical judgment to make effective decisions in professional nursing practice.

  • Advances a global healthcare perspective to promote the health of communities and service to society.

Level Outcomes

Course faculty work collaboratively to assure that students completing each level in the curriculum meet the level outcomes. Students progress through each level in sequence:

100 Level: Socialization into Nursing

200 Level: Promoting Healthy Choices

300 Level: The Illness Experience

400 Level: Nursing in a Global Society
