Clinical Facilities

Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing has contracts with over one hundred agencies in northwest Oregon and southwest Washington to provide learning experiences for our nursing students.

Many of these health care agencies are community based; our students are found wherever nurses practice. Some examples of community based clinical sites include: ambulatory care clinics, home health agencies, public health departments, day treatment centers, correctional facilities, hospice, long-term care facilities, convalescent centers, senior centers, child development centers, medical foster care, migrant health clinics, schools, physicians' offices, dialysis centers, and rehabilitation programs.

About one-third of the clinical agencies provide acute care in a hospital setting. This distribution is a reflection of the health care industry's move from providing acute care in the hospital to providing primary and preventative care in the community where nurses play a primary role in the stewardship of resources.

Our clinical sites reflect the curriculum focus on wellness and health promotion throughout the lifespan in the home, school and community. Our commitment to social justice is reflected in our work with agencies providing health care for underserved populations, such as women in crisis and the homeless.
