Internships

Internships are planned with your faculty advisor to add practical knowledge of the health care field to your theoretical learning. Students can expect both personal growth and professional development from an internship. Students spend one semester interning in a community health care setting.

The Health Sciences Internship (BS 487) is a 3 credit course that is a key component to the major.  The internship bridges theory and practice, providing you with “real-world” experience and giving you a competitive advantage when applying for jobs or graduate school.

Examples of Prior Internships include:

  • Animal Assisted Therapy
  • Crisis Intervention and Counseling
  • Health Care Administration
  • Human Resource Management
  • Social Services Activities
  • Health Research
  • Pre-Health
  • Pharmaceutical and Prosthetics Marketing
