Portland Campus Scholarships
New Careers in Nursing Scholarship:
Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing is a grantee of
the New Careers in Nursing Scholarship Program-a national program of the Robert
Wood Johnson Foundation. Linfield is proud to be one of two nursing schools in
the Pacific Northwest, and the only Oregon nursing school awarded such a
prestigious grant. Linfield College-Portland campus is committed to decreasing
the nursing shortage and increasing diversity and cultural competency among
nursing professionals. Twelve $10,000 one time scholarships will be
awarded to eligible students admitted to the accelerated nursing program
starting in June 2010.
Eligibility Criteria
- Have financial need as determined by FAFSA.
- Earned a bachelors degree by January 30, 2010 from a regionally accredited institution.
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
- Admitted into the Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing Accelerated program starting in June, 2010.
- Come from a group underrepresented in nursing, including
- Men, underrepresented racial or ethnic minorities, and individuals who are financially dissadvantaged.
