Audio Visual Resources

Audio-visual resources available from Computing and Educational Media Services for use on the Portland campus.

  • Computer with data projector (4-5).  One Pentium III-based PC with Windows 2000. Software loaded includes Office 2003 Professional, SPSS 10, Firefox 2.0.0.4, AnzioLite (telnet client), Mulberry 3.1.6, Acrobat Reader 8.0 and Inspiration 6.  Two Macintosh Powerbooks with Office 2001, Safari, Mulberry 3.1.6,Better Telnet, Fetch.  A second Windows XP-based desktop computer on a cart can be made available with similar applications as can a Dell laptop.   The laptop also includes version 2.2 fo Laerdal's SimMan software.
  • 35mm Kodak slide projectors (2).  Slide projector on a cart with spare carousels. Wire-remote control.   Portable support tables for set-up in the auditoriums (PH100 and PH111).   Wireless remote control available.
  • Stereo.  Stereo amplifier with support for cassette tapes and CD.  Portable CD/cassette tape player also available.
  • TV VHS/DVD units.  Most classrooms have either a ceiling-mounted TV or a cart-mounted TV permanently assigned.  Some rooms have a ceiling-mounted data projector used for DVD/VHS and computer-sourced data: These rooms also have additional ceiling-mounted speakers.  All of the units have an attached VHS/DVD player.
    • Ceiling-mounted TV:  Peterson 105 (science lab), 109 (science lab), and the Humanities and Social Sciences Seminar Room and Alumni Room in Loveridge
    • Ceiling-mounted data projectors:  Peterson 101 (Nursing Lab), 102B (Simulation Lab Conference Room), 104, 106, 107 (now Nursing Lab II), and 108.
    • Permanently-assigned cart-mounted units:  Peterson 110, 111, and Conference Room
  • Video Conference System.  May be scheduled into any space with an Ethernet connection.   Currently for use between the Portland and McMinnville campuses.   See Video Conference Schedule for information.
  • Small TV/VCR units(2).  Two 14-inch TV units with VCR suitable for use in office spaces.  Unit #1 consists of separate TV and VCR units on a small AV cart.  Unit #2 is a single unit TV/VCR that can be carried or placed on a cart.
  • 16mm Film Projectors(2).  Yes, we do have two 16mm film projectors available (dust is optional).
  • Microphones for use in PH110 and PH111.  Two podium microphones and two portable, wireless microphones.  There is also a portable public address system available for events in the courtyard or the Foyer in Peterson Hall.
  • Each classroom has an overhead projector.

To schedule any of this equipment:

  • Send e-mail to C&EMS Staff indicating date, time, location, and equipment needed.
    OR
  • Fill out a Media Equipment Request Form and leave it with the Student Technicians in the Computer Lab in Loveridge Hall or leave it in either the Arnett or De Clerck mailbox in the Faculty Lounge.   Forms are available in the Computer Lab in the Copy Room in Peterson Hall.
  • Please try to make your request for resources at least a week ahead of time.  Last-minute requests will be filled on a resources-available basis.
    C&EMS will deliver and set up the requested equipment for you and will remove it when you have finished.
