Linfield celebrates 25 years in Portland
Linfield College celebrated the Portland Campus 25th anniversary on May 1 at the Portland Classical Chinese Garden. President Tom Hellie welcomed Linfield and Good Sam alumni, faculty, staff and students on a beautiful spring evening. Marcella Gowan GSH '77 received the Lloydena Grimes award for nursing excellence and accepted the award on behalf of nursing education and international nursing, two of her passions. We asked… and you spoke! The response to the recent alumni program survey was impressive, with 169 responses. Portland Campus alumni clearly prefer class year gatherings and receptions to reconnect with old friends. Learn more about the survey results here.

Lloydena Grimes nominations available
Congratulations to Marcella Gowan, GSH '77, the recipient of the 2009 Lloydena Grimes Award for Excellence. All other nominees will roll forward for consideration in 2010.
We are always accepting nominations for this prestigious award. Nomination forms for the 2010 Lloydena Grimes Award for Excellence in Nursing are available online. Or email alumniPDX@linfield.edu to receive a nomination form as an attachment; if you prefer a hardcopy form, call 503.413.7879 with your mailing address. Deadline for nominations is March 15 of every year the award is presented.
Purpose: To recognize a professional nurse who exemplifies nursing excellence, in honor of Lloydena Grimes, a nursing leader in the State of Oregon and Director of Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center School of Nursing for 30 years.
Eligibility Criteria: The individual nominated must be a registered nurse and baccalaureat alumna/us of Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing or associate alumna/us of Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center School of Nursing.
