In addition to the mandatory online orientation, a mandatory, partial-day, on-campus orientation will take place on Friday, February 7, 2014. Because of our limited campus space, guests are discouraged from attending orientation day with students. All information about new student orientation will be sent to Linfield email accounts.
Street parking is available for free in the neighborhood surrounding campus. A small parking lot is adjacent to campus, but is reserved for staff and faculty during business hours. Additional lot parking is available in spaces marked "Legacy Parking" in a lot on the corner of 20th Avenue and Raleigh Street (Parking Map). Vehicles parked in lot parking should be registered with Campus Operations. The campus is also on the Portland Streetcar line and close to numerous Trimet bus lines. Several bike parking spots are also available outside of Loveridge and Peterson Halls.
Beginning your first day of lab work on campus, you will need to wear navy blue scrubs and closed-toed white shoes in every lab class. Once you begin off-campus clinical site work, you will also need to wear navy blue scrubs with closed-toed white shoes to each day of clinical. You can purchase navy blue scrubs from local uniform companies (many offer disounts to students) or online. Please know that we will have a devoted section during New Student Orientation talking about your nursing student uniform.
School breaks and other important academic dates can be found on the Portland Campus Academic Calendar.
There are a couple of ways. Start by checking out the online Portland Campus Calendar. It will have all campus events listed by date. Next get acquainted with your student government, The Associated Students of Linfield College - Portland Campus (ASLC-PC). Student Government sponsors a number of campus clubs and organizations. Many of those groups will advertise meetings and events on the ASLC-PC Facebook page. Other campus happenings can also be found on the College's Portland Campus Facebook page.
