Life at Linfield — the student perspective

And we’re off…

I’ve learned that you can’t always look at the big picture. Sometimes when you know there is a long journey ahead of you, it helps to just concentrate on taking the next step in hopes of it bringing you one step closer to your destination. This to me is like finals week. I can hardly believe how fast the semester has ended. We have reached the end of our classes and are now bringing them to a close; this unfortunately also means final exams. Right around this time I continuously see tired faces, a lot of studying and even a little stress around campus… ok a lot of stress. However to be completely honest, in comparison to others, I suppose I don’t have it too bad. I’m going into the process with a positive attitude and like anything, taking it one step at a time. I try to avoid the thought of how much they affect my grade and how rigorous they can be because that usually just leads to a mass amount of stress and leaves one feeling defeated even before they enter the classroom. Instead I say, prepare to the best of your ability, try and get some sleep, or how much you studied really won’t matter, and go in confident with what you know. The rewards to these tests of mental strength come as a bright light at the end of the tunnel sort to speak. After the conclusion of our exams we get to go home to our families and friends to celebrate the holidays. I have always loved Christmas time not only because I get one year older but because of the kindness it inspires in everyone. The lights, the music, and all of the traditions come together to create an atmosphere that is full of warmth and harmony. And so I leave Linfield with one wish for all, appreciate all of your blessings in life and enjoy the ones you love. Happy Holidays!
