This will be my last blog as the school year ends after finals the week after this week! I cannot believe that the year has flown by so incredibly fast. I guess that is a sign that I have been having fun at Linfield because time flies when you’re having fun. But it really does blow me away that we are approaching the end.
This week will certainly be a busy week, since it is the last week of classes. I have a lot of studying to do. The weekends in May have been jam-packed with things to do as well. My parents were here for Mom’s weekend for Mothers’ Day, and this weekend was the UFO Festival in downtown McMinnville. I very much enjoyed the parade and the large number of people (and dogs) dressed up as aliens! Next weekend is Wildstock on campus, which I hear is a lot of fun. It is also study for finals weekend! My finals schedule will be a bit (or a lot) more stressful than last term because I actually have final exams in all four of my classes this term. In the fall, I had two finals out of three classes. Hopefully I will not get too distracted by the need to start packing all my things and take down my posters!
I am so grateful that I have had the opportunity to blog about my freshman year in college because I now have so many wonderful memories written down. Although I am desperately excited to be at home eating good food, already I can’t wait for next year! I feel like my blog should end in some awesome quote or passage, but I can’t choose one. So I will conclude with some things that I have learned this year:
We are called to be stewards of this Earth, and I want in my life to be a steward and to live and teach stewardship by example.
I want to treat everyday like it could turn out to be the best day of my life thus far. College seems to teach the art of being spontaneous and living life to the fullest no matter what.
Family and friends are the best. I never realized how much I could miss people until college, but I never realized how many people there are to befriend.
