Mission & Goals
The mission of Multicultural Programs is to support the academic mission of the College by enhancing the educational, cultural, social and personal development of students. Multicultural Programs acknowledges, celebrates, and promotes the diverse cultural experiences of each member of the College community and strives to build collaborative relationships, promote and advocate for social justice.
- Provide academic and personal support for students of color and other underrepresented communities who continue to experience marginalization in an effort to enhance the overall educational experience.
- Collaborate, advise and consult with cultural organizations and other related student organizations and community affiliates to assess and respond to the campus climate.
- Aid in recruitment and retention efforts of students of color and underrepresented communities.
- Create opportunities for dialogue and promote intercultural and cross-cultural understanding with an intersectional approach to exploring topics such as class, sexually orientation, gender, ability, and international issues as it relates to race and ethnicity.
