- Thursday, April 4th, 2013 - MAC - Tales of a Presidential Archivist... What You Can Do With a History Degree
Tom Branigar ('74) was an archivist at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Library in Abilene, Kansas, for 30 years. Bring your lunch and hear how Branigar took a minor in history at Linfield and turned it into a career in presidential archives. Branigar also will discuss the origins of the White House Central Files under Theodore Roosevelt and the evolution of the files in the 1930s, as well as the presidential library system. While at the Eisenhower Library, Tom was became an expert on Eisenhower genealogy and worked on records of the Eisenhower administration as well as the White House Central Files and records of the National Security Council.
