- Saturday, May 4th, 2013 - MAC - Marshall Theatre: Spring Awakening
The Linfield theatre program's 93rd season of plays and 10th season in the Marshall Theatre concludes in May with "Spring Awakening" (book and lyrics by Steven Sater, music by Duncan Sheik, and based on the play by Frank Wedekind). This production is co-produced with the Department of Music, and will be directed by Professor Janet Gupton, with musical direction by Professor Christopher Engbretson. Winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, "Spring Awakening" is a rock musical adaptation of Frank Wedekind's 1891 expressionist play about the trials and tribulations, and the exhilaration of the teen years. Performances will be in the Marshall Theatre in Ford Hall on May 2, 3, and 4 and May 9, 10, and 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets will go on sale April 23. Tickets are $10 for full price; $8 for seniors (62+) and Linfield faculty and staff (two tickets per ID); and $6 for students (any age, any school, one ticket per ID); with a $2 discount on all tickets on opening night. Seating is reserved. Tickets are available at http://www.linfield.edu/culture, by phone, or at the Marshall Theatre Box Office. Located just inside the lobby of Ford Hall, the box office is open Tuesday through Friday from 3 to 5 p.m., and until 7:30 p.m. on performance days. The box office will also be open May 4 and 11 from 3 to 7:30 p.m. and from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 5. The box office is closed Mondays. For more information, call 503-883-2292.
