The language of mathematics lies at the foundation of science. Algebra and calculus are utilized throughout the natural sciences. Statistics is of fundamental importance in social sciences, as well as medicine, economics, agriculture and other disciplines. Computer and information sciences make use of discrete mathematics. For many students, mathematics is of great importance in their chosen area of study and Linfield’s mathematics department supports their efforts.
