Thomas, a French major who spent last year studying in Marseille, France, will discuss the city’s multicultural identity, and share current and future implications of the city’s political and social differences. She took part in a program through the American University Center of Provence.
“There are a million things I love about Marseille,” said Thomas, who will also talk about the diversity of the city. “I can remember sitting in my room one evening, my window open, and I could hear an Arab family across the street chanting and clapping to a song. I knew when I left Marseille that I’d miss little things like that.”
The event is free and open to the public and sponsored by the International Programs Office. For more information, contact Michele Tomseth, assistant director of International Programs and January Term off-campus program coordinator, at 503-883-2434, firstname.lastname@example.org.
