Students raise awareness of hunger, homelessness

Fifteen students took to the quad with sleeping bags or blankets to experience some of the challenges homeless people face.

Student-initiated events in November drew attention to the challenges of homelessness and hunger.

“I realized that I take my home and my bed for granted, when there are thousands of people in Oregon who don’t have either,” says Daniel Hellinger ’13, who helped plan the event with Anson Whiting ’12 and Lizzie Martinez, VISTA student engagement coordinator at Linfield.
