Tuition Free Day at Linfield CollegeLinfield College students say thank you to donors who have invested in their education during Tuition Free Day. Watch a video.

Tuition Free Day, hosted by the Student Alumni Association, will be celebrated Thursday, April 17, at 7 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall at Linfield.

This year’s celebration will feature a panel discussion on the importance of philanthropy, secrets to success after graduation and life after Linfield. Students are invited to network with panelists at a reception following the panel. Panelists include Sue Miller, former mayor of Salem; Seth Prickett ’05, The Waypost co-owner; Bert Waugh, Jr. ’66, chairman of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Northwest Real Estate; Dick Withnell ’64, chairman of the board for Withnell Motor Company; and Jennifer Wilson ’04, Nike Global Contingent Workforce manager.

Tuition and fees cover 86 percent of the cost of a Linfield education. Donor support helps to cover the difference. April 17 represents the approximate point, 86 percent of the way through the school year, when revenue from tuition and fees no longer cover educational costs. From this day forward, tuition is “free,” thanks to generous donors.
