The Linfield College Music Department will present the annual Spring Chamber Music Concert on Tuesday, May 15, at 4 p.m. in the Delkin Recital Hall located in the Vivian A. Bull Music Center at Linfield.
The recital will feature a percussion octet, a marimba and vibraphone duet, a woodwind trio, a trumpet duet, a saxophone trio and a string ensemble. Student musicians will perform chamber music, which gives them the opportunity to play one person per part, promoting collaboration, communication and self-discipline between group members. Musical selections come from a wide range of periods including baroque, classical, romantic and modern music.
The performance will also feature an arrangement by Linfield freshman Christian Santangelo, “Eg-Tanem El-Yom,” or “Seize the Day.” The arrangement, influenced by Arabian themes, will be performed by the percussion octet and will open the recital.
The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Linfield Music Department at 503-883-2275.
