The performance will feature solo vocal selections ranging from the 17th century to 2007. She will be accompanied by collaborative pianist Debra Huddleston and fellow student musicians.
Janzen, of Amity, has studied with Gwen Leonard, Linfield professor emerita of music, for five years. She has participated in Linfield Concert Choir, Concert Band, Opera Theatre workshops and various other campus ensembles. She has also appeared in numerous Gallery Theater productions. Janzen was selected as one of the Linfield Chamber Orchestra (LCO) 2008 concerto competition winners and earned honorable mention in the adult female category at the National Association of Teachers of Singing this fall. Notable performances include her role as Susanna in scenes from “The Marriage of Figaro,” and a performance as soprano soloist in the world premiere of “Moabit Sonnets,” a commissioned work by composer Libby Larsen.
