Jason Rodriquez, director of Multicultural Programs at Linfield College, has been appointed to the National Advisory Council for the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education (NCORE). The three-year term runs through 2017.
Rodriquez, at Linfield since 2011, has also served on the Student Success Team, Professional Development Day Committee and the Administrator Assembly Social Task Committee. Before coming to the Linfield, Rodriquez was director of Diversity Education and Support in the Office of the Dean of Students at the University of Oregon and the assistant director of Multicultural Services in the Office of International and Multicultural Services at the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, N.J. He holds a bachelor’s degree in ethnic studies from Oregon State University and a master’s in college student services from Western Illinois University.
NCORE, started in 1988 and housed in the Southwest Center for Human Relations Studies under Outreach at the University of Oklahoma, was founded to address the resurgence of racist incidents in higher education. Since then, NCORE has evolved into a vital resource for colleges and universities, providing an annual multicultural forum for students of all races representing campuses across the U.S.
