Linfield College a top pick for high school counselors, says new U.S. News & World Report survey

High school counselors across the country named America’s best colleges, according to a survey from U.S. News & World Report. Linfield College was a favorite.

Last spring, guidance counselors were asked which national liberal arts colleges “offer the best undergraduate education to their students.” Linfield was identified as one of the top 100 schools.

This follows on the heels of another survey of high school counselors published in August, where Linfield was named one of 26 preferred small private schools in the U.S. The “College A-List” was published by PARADE magazine.

Linfield “students are some of the most earnest, down to earth, and nicest people I have encountered,” one counselor told PARADE.

“Linfield is a classic liberal arts college with a pre-professional feel,” the counselor said.

Other schools on the College A-List included Grinnell, Pomona and Whitman.

Linfield has come in for praise this year by The Washington Post, the Atlantic, The New York Times, Washington Monthly, The Huffington Post, Princeton Review and other news outlets.
