Best College indicators include peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving.
According to the survey, Linfield boasts an 82 percent freshman retention rate, with three-quarters of all students graduating. Class sizes are small; 68 percent have less than 20 students while only 1 percent has more than 50 students. Eight-one percent of the faculty are full-time.
More than 1,400 schools nationwide are ranked. The complete report will be published in the September issue of U.S. News & World Report.
