Linfield economics professor weighs in on Penn State sanctions

Professor Randy Grant provided insights for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review about the Penn State fine levied by the NCAA.

Grant, a sports economist at Linfield and co-author of The Economics of Intercollegiate Athletics, said that $60 million fine levied by the NCAA won’t bankrupt the football program. He predicted the school’s athletic department will recover faster financially than it will on the football field.

Grant chairs the Department of Economics at Linfield.
